The Philae Temple complex is an ancient site located on Philae Island, which was considered a sacred place connected to the cult of Isis for thousands of years. The temple complex is dedicated to Isis, Osiris, and Horus, and its construction began around 280 BCE during the reign of Ptolemy II[3]. The walls of the temple depict scenes from Egyptian mythology, including the story of Isis bringing Osiris back to life and mummifying him after his death.

The Philae Temple complex faced the threat of submersion due to the construction of the Aswan High Dam. To save the temples, UNESCO conducted a rescue project, relocating them block by block from Philae Island to Agilika Island, located about 12 kilometers south of Aswan. Today, visitors can still walk amidst the columns and explore this ancient venerated site
